The Museum of Romanovs is located in a building which was the residence of the Siberian Governor-Generals in the period from 1828 to 1839 and where Tobolsk governors lived from 1839 to 1917. From August 1917 to April 1918, for 8 months, the house became the shelter of the Russian Emperor Nicholas II’s exiled family.

The display shows memorial items related to both the stay of the royal prisoners in Tobolsk and the visits to the city by representatives of the House of Romanovs. Special attention is paid to each member of the family of Emperor Nicholas II and their attendants, who voluntarily followed them in Tobolsk exile. You immerse in the atmosphere of that time thanks to the extant photographic documents and interior elements.
