The opening of the monument to the famous author of the “Humpbacked Horse” Peter Pavlovich Yershov took place in 2007 in the year of the 420th anniversary of Tobolsk. People’s Artist of Russia, sculptor M. V. Pereyaslavets created an amazing image of the poet inextricably linked with Tobolsk, the city that inspired the young Siberian to create a wonderful fairy tale. It is no accident that the magical fish-whale at the base of the sculpture bears the Tobolsk Kremlin.
