The author of the monument is the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Sergey Grigoryevich Milchenko.

A native of the city of Tobolsk, a participant in the Patriotic War of 1812, in addition to the world-famous romance “The Nightingale”, A. Alyabyev is the author of 7 operas, about 200 romances and instrumental compositions. His operas were staged at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow and the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. In 1825, the Bolshoi Theater opened after a fire with the prologue “The Triumph of the Muses” with music by three authors, including Alyabyev.
