The memorial in honor of the Tobolians who died in the Great Patriotic War was opened in 1987. The primary project of the memorial was designed by Tobolsk architects B. A. Fershtater and I. G. Rossoshik. In 2010, there was a 15-meter stele with the image of the Order of Victory and the crane wedge, memorial plates on the slopes of the monument, which were engraved with the names of the fallen Tobolyaks. As a result of the reconstruction of the memorial in 2015 To mark the 70th anniversary of the Victory, memorial plaques bearing the names of 1,196 Tobolyaks who gave their lives for the victory in the Great Patriotic War were placed on steles on both sides of the eternal flame.
