Gostiny Dvor was built in 1703–1708. designed by S.U. Remezov, and only 1/3 was inferior in size to the Moscow one, since the main trade routes connecting Asia and Europe passed through Tobolsk. The building was built like the Bukhara caravanserai, like a two-storey closed quadrangle with straight blank walls.

Currently, the Gostiny Dvor houses the Museum of Siberian Entrepreneurship, the Ethnography of Siberian Migrants Exhibition Complex, the Grass-Fire Nettle Workshop, the Residence of the Siberian Voevoda, as well as hotel rooms, shopping stalls with souvenirs, cafes.
