Nikolai Vasilievich Nikitin (December 15, 1907, Tobolsk – March 3, 1973, Moscow) – Soviet architect and scientist in the field of building structures, Doctor of Technical Sciences (1966), Corresponding Member of the Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture. Honored Builder of the RSFSR (1970). He was awarded 2 orders and medals.

Born on December 15, 1907 in Tobolsk. His father, a printing engineer, was dismissed from service for participating in the revolution and worked as a court clerk. In 1911 the family moved to Ishim. In 1919, the family, together with the retreating Kolchak troops, left for the city of Novonikolaevsk (Novosibirsk).

In 1930, he graduated with honors from the architecture department of the construction faculty of the Tomsk Technological Institute, was appointed architect of the Novosibirsk regional committee.
From 1937 he lived and worked in Moscow.
In 1957 he was appointed chief designer of Mosproekt, began to work on the project of the Ostankino tower, the construction of which was completed in 1967.
In addition, N.V. Nikitin is the author of projects for the following buildings:

• Buildings of Moscow State University on Lenin (Sparrow) Hills;
• the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw;
• The Motherland Calls Monument! In Volgograd.

Nikitin is the author of over 50 scientific publications on topical problems of the art of building.

Nikitin died on March 3, 1973. He was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery.
