The restaurant owes its name to the ancient Armenian city. The city of Ani was located away from the busy trade routes and, nevertheless, was an important trade hub. In the days of its former greatness, many poems and songs were written about the city. After the earthquake that occurred in 1319, the ancient city was abandoned, but the hearts of the Armenian people still keep the memory of it.
